Using the Profit Assistant

The built-in AI assistant answers questions about your store's profit using your real numbers, in plain language.

The Profit Assistant is an AI helper that answers questions about your own store's profit, grounded in your real numbers. You will find it in two places that share one conversation: the chat bubble at the bottom-right of any page (the Ask AI tab), and the assistant card on the dashboard.

How to use it

  1. Open the chat bubble, or scroll to the assistant on the dashboard.
  2. Type a question in plain words, for example "what is my profit this month", "which products lose money", or "why did profit drop last month".
  3. Read the answer. The assistant looks up your real figures to reply, and quotes the numbers it used.

Write in your own language - it replies in your store's language.

What it can answer

It can pull real numbers from every report in the app: your profit summary, trends over time, period comparisons, your money-ranked findings, the monthly P&L, the profit waterfall ("where does my money go"), top and bottom products, a single product or a single order by name, profit by vendor, money-losing orders, returns, discounts, ad campaigns, customers, storefront traffic and conversion, bundles and basket profit, shipping costs, inventory value and health, chargebacks, and gift cards. It can also simulate what-ifs: a price change, or a free-shipping threshold.

Ask about one brand, one product, or one category ("how is Brand X doing?", "how are my jackets doing?") and it goes deeper than any single report: profit after every cost with the store average next to it, the share of your store's profit it carries, what marketing on it cost versus what it kept, returns as a share of its revenue, how much of it sells marked down and how deep, whether it earns more in-store or online, and how fast its stock turns back into cash.

It also answers questions no single report page covers: rank your product types against each other ("which category is best?"), group products by SKU prefix ("how are my MAW products doing?" - useful when your SKUs encode the brand or supplier), profit per store location ("which location earns the most?"), and which products sell in one channel but not the other ("what sells online but never in POS?").

Reports that belong to the Pro or Business plan stay on those plans - if you ask about one from a lower plan, the assistant says which plan unlocks it instead of showing the numbers. If a number is zero or missing, it tells you which page or setting fills it in rather than guessing.

Getting a how-to guide

You can also ask the assistant how to do something, for example "how do I add product costs" or "how do I connect Google Ads". When your question matches one of our help guides, it hands you that guide straight away. You can also browse every guide yourself: open the chat bubble and switch to the Guides tab.

Good to know

The assistant is read-only - it can look things up and explain them, but it never changes your data or settings. There is a monthly message allowance that depends on your plan (see Assistant limits by plan). If you would rather reach a person, switch to the Email us tab in the same chat bubble.
