Products not selling report

Find the products that have stock but are not selling, ranked by the cash tied up in them, each with a likely reason it is stuck and what to do next.

Updated July 8, 2026

This report lists products that still have stock but have not sold - or barely sold - in the window you choose, ranked by the cash tied up in them, so you can decide what to discount, bundle, or stop reordering.

What it shows

  • Summary cards: how many products are not selling in the window, the cash tied up at your cost, and the retail value at risk.
  • A table of the products, with for each one: the product and vendor, units in stock and how many of its options still have stock, unit cost, price, compare-at price, the time since it last sold (or "Never sold"), and the likely reasons it is stuck.
  • The reasons are shown as short chips, for example picked-over options, a weak discount, priced above similar products, hidden, or no photo.

The table shows up to 100 products, with the most cash tied up first. To see any product's full profit and margin, open it in the all products report.

Filters and options

  • Date range picker, set to the last 90 days by default.
  • Location scope, for stores with more than one location.
  • Filters by vendor and product type.
  • Settings, which let you tune the thresholds used to flag products: the not-selling cutoff in units, a grace period for new products, low option availability, the minimum options to check before flagging "picked over", a minimum markdown, and a high-price threshold. These settings only change how reasons are flagged.
  • Schedule report: email it weekly, monthly, or quarterly with the data attached as a CSV.
  • Export data: download the full list as a CSV (Business plan).

When to use it

Use it to clear cash out of slow stock. Sort your attention by the cash tied up, then use the reason and the last-sale date to choose between a markdown, a bundle, or not reordering. To plan reorders and markdowns across all your stock, use the inventory profit health report.
