Troubleshooting
A cost shows missing or estimated
What the missing and estimated labels mean on an order, and how to replace them with real costs.
Updated June 30, 2026
These two labels tell you the app does not yet have a real cost for something, so it is being honest rather than guessing.
What each means
- Missing: no cost is recorded at all. That sale is being counted with no cost behind it, which makes profit look higher than it is.
- Estimated: the app used an assumption, not a known figure. The most common case is a custom or manual sale line, where it applies an assumed margin you set.
How to fix it
- Open Data quality to see everything that is missing or estimated, with the profit it affects.
- Click through to fix it - usually by entering a product cost or setting a cost rule.
- For custom sale lines that are always estimated, set a real cost where you can, or accept the assumed margin if that is close enough.
Once a real cost is in place, the label changes to exact and the order's confidence improves.
