Shipping and returns report
See whether shipping makes or loses you money: shipping income against carrier, return, and refunded shipping costs, split by paid, free, and pickup orders, with a returns summary.
Updated July 8, 2026
This report shows whether shipping makes or loses you money - your shipping income against every shipping cost, split by paid, free, and pickup orders - plus a returns summary.
What it shows
- Summary cards: the net shipping result (income minus every shipping cost), shipping income, and total shipping cost.
- A shipping profit and loss: shipping income collected, then outbound carrier cost, return shipping cost, and refunded shipping, down to the net shipping result. A negative net result means shipping costs you more than you charge.
- Order segments: paid shipping (the customer paid), free shipping (you covered it), store pickup, and orders with no shipping line, plus an all-orders row. Each shows the order count, shipping income, and shipping cost.
- A returns summary: orders with a return or refund, the return rate, refunded shipping, and return shipping cost.
Filters and options
- Date range picker.
- Compare to the previous period, the previous year, or a custom range. The profit-and-loss and returns tables switch to current vs previous, and the segments show the comparison value below each one.
- Schedule report: email it weekly, monthly, or quarterly with the data attached as a CSV (scheduling by email needs the Pro plan).
- Export data: download the report as a CSV (Business plan).
If some shipped orders have no shipping cost yet, a banner tells you the carrier cost is understated and links to Cost rules, Shipping.
When to use it
Use it to see if your shipping pricing covers your real costs, and to compare paid shipping, free shipping, and store pickup side by side.
