Set a safety-stock floor
Choose a floor per variant, or a shop-wide default. When available stock reaches it, the product stops selling. Set it in the app, not in your theme.
A Shopify Function checks stock at checkout
The check runs server-side on Shopify, so it applies to every path a buyer can take: normal checkout, Shop Pay, express buttons and direct checkout links.
Checkout is blocked before you oversell
When the buffer would be breached, the purchase is stopped with a message you control, so you keep your safety stock instead of selling units you cannot ship.
Safety stock, not an order limit
A different job from an order-limit app
Order-limit apps cap how many units one customer can buy. Easy Stock Buffer does the opposite job: it stops selling a product to everyone once stock reaches your buffer. Shopify has no built-in setting for that, and it holds at checkout, so a buyer cannot slip past it on Shop Pay or a direct link.
