Thresholds
Set a threshold on a product
Pick products on the Thresholds page and set the minimum stock to keep. Easy Stock Buffer then blocks checkout for any variant that would drop below that level.
Updated July 22, 2026
The Thresholds page (/app/thresholds) is where you set and manage the minimum stock to keep for each product. Pick products, enter a threshold, and every variant of those products is protected.
Set a threshold
- Open Thresholds (/app/thresholds) and click Pick products.
- Choose one or more products in Shopify's picker and confirm. The threshold applies to all variants of each product you pick.
- Enter a Threshold - the minimum stock you want to keep on hand.
- Click Save threshold.
Change or remove one
- To change a single variant's threshold, open its row's Actions menu and choose Edit threshold.
- To protect or unprotect many at once, tick the rows you want and use Edit threshold or Remove in the bulk bar at the bottom.
- To stop protecting a variant, open its Actions menu and choose Remove protection.
What you should see
Saved variants appear in the table with a Manually set badge, their threshold, and their current inventory. The Status column flags anything Blocked or Near threshold. The Protection summary at the top counts how many variants are manually set, covered by a rule, or at risk right now.
Good to know
On the Free plan you can set a threshold on up to 10 variants. Editing or removing existing thresholds always works, even after the limit is reached. To cover many products with one setting instead of picking them one by one, use bulk thresholds by collection, tag, or type or a shop-wide default threshold. For what the threshold actually does, see how thresholds decide what gets blocked.
