Troubleshooting

Before you uninstall

What happens when you remove Easy Stock Buffer: blocking stops, your subscription is cancelled by Shopify, and your data is kept for a short grace period in case you reinstall.

Updated July 22, 2026

Removing Easy Stock Buffer stops it protecting your stock. If you only want to pause protection for a while, there are gentler options below.

What happens when you uninstall

  • Blocking stops. Once the app is removed, its checkout rule no longer holds orders, so shoppers can buy freely again.
  • Your subscription is cancelled automatically by Shopify. You do not need to cancel anything by hand, and there is no separate billing step in the app.
  • Your data is kept for a short grace period - about 48 hours - so a reinstall during that window brings your thresholds and settings back. After the grace period, Shopify asks the app to delete your data and it is removed.

Gentler alternatives

Tidy up after removing

  • If you added the storefront stock box or sold-out blocks to your theme, open the theme editor and remove them. They stop showing once the app is gone, but removing the blocks keeps your theme clean.
  • The checkout rule you added becomes inactive on its own once the app is removed. You can delete the empty rule from Settings, then Checkout if you want. If you reinstall later, you will re-add it - see activate stock blocking in your Checkout settings.
