Storefront blocks: what each one does

Every Easy Tickets theme block and the app embed for your Shopify theme: what each one shows, where it goes, its settings and defaults, and what appears when you place none.

Updated September 24, 2026

Easy Tickets adds one app embed and 12 blocks to your Shopify theme. The embed runs ticket selling on event product pages, and the blocks let you place its pieces and add extra event details.

You find them in the theme editor. The embed sits under App embeds; the blocks are under Add block > Apps. Ten blocks work on the product template only, while the Events page and Class passes blocks go on any page.

Every product block shows only on products that are events. In the theme editor each block shows a placeholder so you can see where it sits.

The app embed: Easy Tickets Popup

Easy Tickets Popup is a switch under App embeds, and it has no settings. It loads on product pages only and does nothing on products that are not events.

It must be on for the attendee popup, the recurring date picker, the waitlist button, seat-map buying and the sold-out, paused and ended states. It also fills the six slot blocks further down. With the embed off, an event product behaves like a plain product. The steps to switch it on are in the attendee popup and its designer.

When your plan's tickets for the cycle are used up, the embed closes the buy form on every event and shows "Tickets temporarily unavailable".

Blocks that work on their own

These six load their own script, so they work without the embed.

Event Date

A line with the event's date and time. Product template only.

  • Text format: {date} · {time} by default. You can use {date}, {start}, {end} and {time}.
  • Show calendar icon: on.
  • Style: Plain text (default) or Pill.
  • Alignment: Left (default), Center or Right.
  • Colors: Text color #1a1a1a; Pill background #f4f4f5 and Pill text color #1a1a1a for the Pill style.
  • Horizontal spacing and Vertical spacing: 0 to 60 px, default 0.

Dates and times follow your date format and 12 or 24-hour setting. The date and time values are translated, but the text you type around them is not.

Event Location

The venue name, its address and a "Get directions" link. Online events show "Online event" and "Your join link arrives by email." The join link itself never appears on a public page. On a recurring event, the block switches to the venue of the date the shopper picks.

  • Show location icon: on.
  • Show directions link: on. It needs a Location URL on the venue.
  • Directions link text: "Get directions".
  • Show address: on.
  • Style, Alignment, colors and spacing: as on Event Date.

Event Available Inventory

A tickets-left line with a status dot: green, amber at 20 percent or less, red at 0. Seat-mapped events count free seats. On a recurring event it follows the date the shopper picks.

  • Text format: {available} tickets remaining by default. You can also use {sold} and {total}.
  • Style: Text with status dot (default) or Pill.
  • Show: Total remaining (default), Per ticket type, or Per date / slot (recurring).
  • Colors: Text color #1a1a1a, Pill background #e7f5ec, Pill text color #166534.
  • Alignment and spacing: as on Event Date.

Counts can be up to 30 seconds behind.

Expired Events

A message, with an optional button, that appears on an event's product page only once the event is over. That is the day after its end date, or when a recurring event has no upcoming date left.

  • Message: "This event has ended."
  • Link button label: "See upcoming events".
  • Link: empty. The button shows only when both the label and the link are filled.
  • Alignment: Left (default), Center or Right.
  • Colors: Background #f6f6f7, Text #1a1a1a, Link button background #1a1a1a, Link button text #ffffff.
  • Horizontal spacing and Vertical spacing: 0 to 60 px, default 0.

The block only adds the message. The embed turns the buy button into "Event ended", and the product stays published.

Events page

A list or grid of all your events, with search, filters, tags and a featured banner. It goes on any page, and it has 66 settings. The Events page block covers them one by one.

Class passes

On any page, a signed-in customer sees their class passes, credits and bookings here, and books classes with a credit. Visitors who are not signed in see a sign-in line instead. It needs customer accounts on your store.

  • Heading: "Your passes".
  • Sign-in message and Sign-in button label ("Sign in").
  • Minimum height: 420 px (200 to 1200).
  • Design: Corner style Rounded, Heading size 32 px, Pass name size 22 px, Text size 15 px, Use the theme's font on.
  • Colours: Brand colour, Text colour, Card background, Card border and Button text colour, all empty by default.
  • Spacing: margins and paddings, all 0.

The block does not sell passes. Customers buy them as products.

Blocks the embed fills

These six are empty slots until the Easy Tickets Popup embed fills them. Placing one moves that piece to where the block sits. Without the block, the app inserts the piece into the buy form itself, as described further down.

Date & time picker

On a recurring event, this places the date picker. The buy button stays blocked until the shopper picks a date. On a one-time event it shows the date and time, plus the venue unless the Event Location block is on the page.

  • Style: Calendar (default, a month grid), Date list or Dropdown.

The picker's colors come from the Calendar (date picker) section of the Popup editor. Without this block, the picker is always the Calendar style at the top of the buy form. Date list and Dropdown need the block. See recurring events and time slots for how dates and times are picked.

Ticket selector

Shows the ticket types with their prices in place of the theme's own variant picker.

  • Layout: List (cards) (default), Dropdown, or Pills / buttons.
  • Heading: blank shows "Select ticket type" in the store's language.
  • Show quantity selector: on. It adds a "Tickets" plus and minus stepper and hides the theme's quantity field.

This block has no automatic version: without it, the theme's picker is used. It is not used on seated events. It has been tested on the Dawn theme only, so check your other product pages after adding it. If ticket options look wrong, remove the block and the theme's picker comes back.

Ticket add-ons

No settings. It places the add-on groups set to show on the product page, and refund protection when that is set to the product page. Groups set to the popup stay in the popup. It uses the Popup editor's colors.

Discount banner

No settings in the theme editor. It places the promo code banner you design on the event's Promo codes tab under Banner design. It stays empty until a code has Show on product page switched on. Promo codes and the discount banner explains the banner.

Ticket delivery choice

No settings. It places the choice between "Send to each attendee" and "Send all tickets to me". It only fills when the event's Delivery mode (Emails tab) is "Customer choice" and Show delivery choice in is "On the product page". With the default, "Inside the attendee popup", this block stays empty.

Seat picker

No settings. On a seat-mapped event the buy button already reads "Choose seats". This block adds a second "Choose seats" button where you place it, and the seat map opens in a popup. It stays empty on events without a seat map and while seat sales are closed.

What shows when you place no blocks

With only the embed switched on, the product page still gets everything a shopper needs:

  • The recurring date picker goes at the top of the buy form, in the Calendar style.
  • The discount banner, product-page add-ons, refund protection and delivery choice go just above the quantity field. With no quantity field, they go above the buy button.
  • On one-time events, a small box above the buy button shows the date, time and venue, or "Online event".
  • The Ticket selector and Seat picker have no automatic version. The theme's own picker and the "Choose seats" buy button are used.

The one-time event box comes from Settings > Event details on the product page > Show event details on the product page. It is on for shops installed after August 22, 2026, and off for older shops. It skips pages that have the Event Date, Event Location or Date & time picker block, so nothing shows twice.

The app finds its spot by looking for your theme's quantity field or buy button. There is no automatic events page; the Events page block has to be added to a page.

How the setup guide checks your blocks

The setup guide step "Set up your event product pages" is done once one of these blocks is on your published theme:

  • Ticket selector, Event Date, Event Location or Event Available Inventory
  • Ticket add-ons, Date & time picker, Ticket delivery choice or Discount banner

The Seat picker and Class passes blocks do not count. You can also click Mark as done.

The app looks at your published theme only, and it never edits your theme files itself.

The theme editor's language

Block names, setting labels and notes in the theme editor are English only. What shoppers see follows your store's language. A text setting left at its default shows the app's own wording in each language.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to place blocks for tickets to sell?

No. With only the Easy Tickets Popup app embed on, the app fills your theme's buy form itself. It adds the date picker, add-ons, discount banner and delivery choice. Blocks move those pieces or add extras such as the tickets-left line.

Why is my Ticket add-ons or Discount banner block empty?

Six blocks are empty slots that the app embed fills, so switch on Easy Tickets Popup under App embeds first. A slot also stays empty when the event has nothing to show there, for example no add-ons set to the product page.

Why are the block names in English when my admin is in German?

The block names and setting labels in the theme editor are English only. What shoppers see on the store follows your store's language.
