Emails, tickets and design
Design themes
Restyle an event's ticket emails, PDF ticket and online ticket page in one step with one of six design themes: Classic, Cinema, Workshop, Festival, Conference or Sports.
Updated September 24, 2026
A design theme restyles an event's four emails, its PDF ticket and its online ticket page in one step. There are six: Classic, Cinema, Workshop, Festival, Conference and Sports.
The six themes
- Classic: "The original Easy Tickets design." Every event starts on it unless you pick another.
- Cinema: "Cinematic artwork, elegant details and a clear admission card."
- Workshop: "Friendly cards for classes, workshops and smaller gatherings."
- Festival: "Bold artwork and a festival pass on a warm, light canvas."
- Conference: "An editorial, understated design for professional events."
- Sports: "A bold match-day ticket with a dark surround and green accents."
Pick a theme
When you create an event, the Event design section shows the six cards. Later, the Design templates button sits at the top of the confirmation, reminder, follow-up, waitlist, PDF ticket and online ticket page editors.
- Open one of those editors and press Design templates. Save or discard open edits first.
- Click a card to preview it in the editor. Nothing is saved while you browse.
- Press Use Cinema across this event, or the same button for the design you picked. The dialog warns "This changes the ticket page, PDF and all four email templates."
- Press Apply design. Back to my design closes the panel without changing anything.
What a theme changes
In the four emails:
- a new layout, with a Banner image block after the Header
- the design's colours and its Design default font
- starter wording and a starter information block, such as Practical information columns on Cinema and Sports
- on Sports, the confirmation's greeting is hidden so the email opens on the admission card
On the PDF ticket:
- always the digital, section-based layout; the Physical preset exists on Classic only
- the design's colours and fixed typography, with no font size, colour or page size controls
- icon pickers and Practical information columns
- no "Powered by Easy Tickets & Events" line, which Classic PDFs always print
On the online ticket page:
- the design's page background, a white header bar and the design's heading font
- a banner image and tagline in the header
- a buyer whose email carried several tickets can swipe between them on the page
A theme never touches the storefront popup, the class pack emails or the emails the app sends you.
What happens to your edits
- Your previous design and its custom code are kept. Switching back restores it as you left it, with its custom code, logos, notes and translations.
- The first time you move to one of the five newer designs, wording you edited carries over. Starter text you never touched changes to the new design's.
- Custom HTML stays with the design it was made for. It stops being used when you switch and comes back when you switch back.
- Images you uploaded are never replaced by a design switch.
- On a recurring series, dates you customized and dates already past keep their designs.
Brand images and logos
Each of the five newer designs comes with its own picture: a cinema auditorium, a pottery workshop, an outdoor festival at sunset, a conference auditorium and a football stadium. It is the banner, and in the emails the event poster too. Conference starts without a poster.
Replace the picture with your own, remove it, or bring it back with Use default image.
The logo comes from Settings, Brand settings, Logo image, unless a template sets its own logo or hides it. The Brand settings accent colour is the default header bar colour of the Classic ticket page and colours the button of the built-in waitlist email. The email templates have their own Accent color.
PDF icons on the newer designs
The PDF editor on the five newer designs adds icon pickers:
- Row, Seat and Table in the Ticket Stub, next to Show saved floor / section
- Refund protection icon and Add-on icon in Order Details
- one icon for each practical information column
The icons to choose from are No icon, Rows, Table, Screen, Calendar, Clock, Location, Attendee, Ticket, Seat, Document, Shield, Package, Information, Refreshments, Phone, Map, ID card and Help.
Limits
- A theme applies to one event and the future dates that follow it. There is no shop-wide theme.
- There is no palette builder beyond each template's own colour fields.
- No design adds an Apple or Google Wallet pass or sponsor logos.

Frequently asked questions
Does a design theme change the storefront popup?
No. A theme restyles the four emails, the PDF ticket and the online ticket page. The popup keeps the look you set in its own editor.
Do I lose my edits when I switch design?
No. Your previous design and its custom code are kept, and switching back restores it as you left it. Wording you edited carries over to a new design, and images you uploaded are never replaced.
Can I set one design for all my events?
No. A design applies to one event and the future dates of its series. Pick it per event, or duplicate an event that already has the design you want.
