Features

Add-ons and option groups

Sell T-shirts, meals, parking, merchandise, or any extra alongside the ticket - per-attendee or per-order, with their own inventory and pricing.

Add-ons let you sell extras alongside tickets. Common uses:

  • T-shirt size selection (the shirt comes with the workshop fee).
  • Meal choice (dinner at the event).
  • Parking pass.
  • Merchandise bundle (book, mug, swag).
  • Insurance / refund protection (separate from refund protection feature).

Option groups vs options

  • Option group. A category of choices (e.g. "T-shirt size"). Has display location and selection mode.
  • Option. A single choice within the group (e.g. "Small", "Medium", "Large"). Has price, inventory, and image.

You can have multiple groups per event. Each group can have unlimited options.

Creating a group

From the event settings, go to Options (or Add-ons). Click Add group.

Configure:

  • Group name - what customers see ("T-shirt size", "Meal preference").
  • Selection mode - Per attendee (each ticket buyer picks) or Per order (one selection for the whole order).
  • Display location - On product page (visible above add-to-cart) or Inside popup (part of the attendee info form).
  • Required - whether the customer must pick an option.

Save.

Adding options to a group

Inside a group:

  1. Click Add option.
  2. Fill in:
    • Option name - what customers see ("Small", "Vegetarian").
    • Price - additional cost beyond the ticket.
    • Inventory - stock for this option (separate from ticket inventory).
    • Image - optional visual picker.

Each option becomes a Shopify product variant under the hood (or a separate Shopify product, depending on configuration). Easy Tickets handles the Shopify catalog creation.

What customers see

For on product page display:

  • A section above Add to Cart showing each group.
  • Each option as a radio button, dropdown, or visual card (with image).
  • The selected options' prices add to the ticket price in real-time.

For inside popup display:

  • The popup includes a section per group.
  • Per-attendee groups show once per ticket in the cart; per-order groups show once.

Pricing and inventory

Each option has its own:

  • Price - charged on top of the ticket.
  • Inventory - sold out independently. So you can sell out of Small while Medium is still available.

When an option sells out, the popup/product page shows it as unavailable. Customers can still buy the ticket without it (if the group is not required).

Per-attendee vs per-order

  • Per-attendee: For a 4-ticket order with a per-attendee T-shirt group, the popup asks for 4 size selections.
  • Per-order: For the same 4-ticket order with a per-order parking group, only one parking selection is captured.

Pick the mode that fits how the option is consumed.

Required vs optional groups

  • Required groups block add-to-cart until selected.
  • Optional groups can be skipped (customer can buy the ticket without picking).

Multiple groups

You can have unlimited groups per event. Common stack:

  1. T-shirt size (per-attendee, on product page).
  2. Meal preference (per-attendee, inside popup).
  3. Parking (per-order, on product page).
  4. Insurance (per-order, inside popup).

Promo codes and add-ons

Promo codes can extend to add-ons:

  • Per promo code, toggle Apply to add-on options.
  • The discount reduces the option prices, not just the ticket.
