Product safety details

Product safety details are on Pro. They show who made a product and who to contact about it inside the EU.

Set them once

Go to Settings, then Product safety. There are six fields: Maker's name, address and email, then EU contact name, address and email. What you put there is used on every product, so you do not retype an address hundreds of times. That also stops your store ending up with hundreds of slightly different versions of the same address.

The EU contact

If you make or import products from outside the EU, there has to be a person or company inside the EU that questions can go to. That is what the EU contact fields are for.

When one product is different

A single product can carry its own details. Open the product, fill in the Product safety details section there, and those are used instead. Leave them empty to use the ones from Settings.

Showing them

The Materials & Care block in your theme editor has a Show product safety details switch, on by default. Turning it off hides the section on every product page at once.

The heading above it is not in the theme editor. Every heading shoppers see is set in one place, under Product safety heading in label settings. It reads Product safety until you change it.

Changing your details in Settings does not rewrite pages that are already live. Open the affected products and save them again to update them.
