Products with leather, horn or fur parts

If a product has parts that come from an animal but are not textile, EU law says the page has to mention it. Typical examples are a leather patch on jeans, horn or bone buttons, a fur trim on a hood, or a leather trim on a bag.

Turn on Has non-textile parts from animals on the product, and the app adds the required sentence under the materials, in every language you have turned on. The same switch is in the Set materials popup on the Products list, so you can turn it on for a whole selection at once.

The wording is fixed by law, so the app writes it for you rather than letting you type your own. You do not list what the part is or how much of it there is.

This is separate from your fibre composition. A wool coat with horn buttons is still 100% wool, plus the animal parts note.
