Use case - event ticketing
How to sell event tickets on Shopify
Short answer
How it works
Create the event in the app
Set the date, venue and ticket types (for example General Admission and VIP). Each ticket type becomes a variant on a backing Shopify product, with its own price and capacity.
Customers buy through your store
The event sells through your normal storefront and checkout. You keep your payments, taxes, discounts and customer data in Shopify, with no separate ticketing account.
Tickets are emailed automatically
On purchase, each attendee gets a branded confirmation email with a QR-coded ticket and a PDF attached. You can edit the email and PDF to match your brand.
Scan people in at the door
At the event, staff scan the QR code with the web check-in page (works offline, uses the phone camera) or the Shopify POS check-in tile. Each ticket is single-use once scanned.
What you get
- Ticket types and tiers as product variants, each with its own price and capacity
- QR-coded tickets with branded confirmation emails and PDF attachments
- Check-in from the web or the Shopify POS app, no extra hardware
- Recurring, multi-day and time-slotted events
- Attendee management with search, filters and CSV export
- Promo codes, waitlists and self-service ticket transfers
Why sell tickets on Shopify instead of a separate platform
A separate ticketing platform means a second checkout, a second payout, and a second place your customer data lives. Selling tickets on Shopify keeps all of that in one system: buyers use the checkout they already trust, you get one payout, and every attendee is a Shopify customer you can reach again.
It also means no per-ticket platform fee on top of payment processing. You run tickets on the same plan and the same payments you already use for the rest of the store.
What you can sell tickets for
Easy Tickets & Events handles one-off events and repeating ones. Common setups include concerts and club nights, workshops and classes, tours and experiences, conferences, fundraisers, and restaurant events like set-menu dinners or pop-ups.
