Getting started

What Easy Image Organizer does

Easy Image Organizer is a Shopify app that lets you bulk-reorder product images, find and remove duplicate images, and edit alt text and filenames at scale across your whole catalog.

Updated May 20, 2026

Easy Image Organizer is the missing image control panel for Shopify. Native admin handles one product at a time; Easy Image Organizer handles your whole catalogue at once.

The three tools

1. Image Organizer - bulk reorder

Drag-and-drop image strips across every product, with multi-select and bulk-move ("move position 3 to position 1 across these 50 products"). Add new images via drag-drop to the trailing "+" tile. Delete with a click. Undo per product before saving.

2. Find Duplicates - perceptual scanner

A perceptual-hash duplicate scanner that finds visually identical images even when they're different files. Groups duplicates as either "same product" (same image used multiple times on one product) or "across products" (supplier images leaking across listings). Delete duplicates in place, save.

3. Image SEO - bulk alt text + filenames

A spreadsheet-style editor for every image in your store. Edit alt text and filename inline, or auto-optimise from the product title with one click ("auto optimise all" applies to every image in the current view). Bulk-select and bulk-auto-optimise.

What problem each tool solves

  • Bulk reorder - Shopify forces you to reorder images one product at a time. With 500 products and a new hero image, that's a half-day job. Easy Image Organizer does it in minutes.
  • Find duplicates - duplicate images hurt SEO (Google Image Search demotes pages with duplicate visual content), hurt Core Web Vitals (extra weight to load), and confuse customers. Manual auditing is impossible past ~100 SKUs.
  • Image SEO - missing alt text is an accessibility violation and an SEO miss. Random filenames like IMG_2391.jpg are SEO dead weight. Bulk-fixing both used to be a Liquid + CSV + bulk-edit-API project; Easy Image Organizer does it from one admin page.

Who it's for

  • Stores with 50+ products.
  • Dropshippers with images coming from many suppliers.
  • Stores migrating in from Etsy, eBay, Amazon, or another platform.
  • Fashion and apparel stores with many variants per product.
  • Anyone whose image admin has been "I'll fix it later" for six months.

What it doesn't do

  • It's not an image editor (no crop, no filter, no resize).
  • It's not a CDN (your images stay on Shopify's CDN).
  • It doesn't write product copy (just alt text + filenames).
  • It doesn't generate AI images - use PackScene for that.

How it integrates with Shopify

  • Reads products, media, collections, and Shopify Files via the Admin GraphQL and REST APIs.
  • Writes back through the same APIs - every change is a real Shopify admin update.
  • No theme extension. No storefront change.
  • No data export needed. Nothing is "synced" - the app reads live state.

Frequently asked questions

What is Easy Image Organizer?

Easy Image Organizer is a Shopify admin app that gives merchants three tools in one: bulk drag-and-drop image reordering across many products, a perceptual duplicate-image scanner with cleanup, and an alt text + filename SEO editor for product and collection images.

Who is it for?

Shopify merchants with more than ~50 products whose image management has become impossible in native Shopify admin. Especially: dropshippers, multi-supplier catalogues, fashion stores with many variants, anyone whose alt text and filenames have piled up unedited for months.

Does it work with images uploaded outside the app?

Yes. Easy Image Organizer reads your existing product images, collection images, and Files library directly via Shopify's APIs. There's no separate upload step, no migration, no syncing - it works on whatever's already in your store.

Does it modify my products in destructive ways?

Every action that changes a product (reorder, delete, alt-text edit, filename edit) is initiated by you and stages as "unsaved" until you click Save. There's no auto-save and no background mutation. You always have a chance to back out.
