Getting started
What PackScene does
PackScene is a Shopify app that turns flat-lay product packshots into AI-generated, on-model product photos. Use it instead of paying for a model photoshoot.
Updated May 20, 2026
PackScene is the missing piece between a product packshot and a finished product detail page. You already have flat-lay or ghost-mannequin photos. PackScene turns those into AI-generated model images at 2000x2000 pixels and publishes them directly to the Shopify product they belong to.
This page is the short overview. The rest of the docs cover the full flow, settings, plans, and common questions.
What it does, in one paragraph
You pick a Shopify collection. PackScene lists every product in the collection with their existing images. You click an image to mark it as the front packshot, and (optionally) another image as the back packshot. You pick a model gender, choose which framings you want (full body, upper body, lower body), and click Generate. PackScene queues an AI generation job per image, upscales each result to 2000x2000, and stores the output for review. You approve the ones you like, mark the rest as "Don't use", and click Publish. The approved images appear on the Shopify product, in the position you chose.
When to use PackScene
PackScene is the right tool when:
- You sell apparel, accessories, swimwear, activewear, sleepwear, intimates, or anything that visibly benefits from being shown on a body.
- You ship dozens or hundreds of new products at a time and a real photoshoot for each one is not realistic.
- Your existing packshots are clean - even lighting, full garment in frame, no heavy shadows.
- You want every product image positioned, cropped, and uploaded into Shopify automatically rather than dragging files around manually.
PackScene is the wrong tool when:
- You sell hard goods that don't go on a body (furniture, kitchenware, tools).
- Your packshots are crops, screenshots, or low resolution. Garbage in, garbage out.
- You need a specific named model or a brand-defined location backdrop. PackScene generates clean, consistent studio-style imagery.
The high-level flow
Setup once - then for every generation:
- Open Generate in the PackScene admin.
- Pick a Shopify collection.
- Click the packshot images to mark them as front (and back, if you have it).
- Pick a model gender and one or more framings.
- Click Generate Selected. Each image costs one credit.
- When the run finishes, go to Reviews and approve the keepers.
- Pick a position (before existing images, or after existing images) and click Publish.
The next pages walk through each of those steps in detail.
What gets uploaded to Shopify
PackScene uploads finished, upscaled images (2000x2000) as new product media on the Shopify product. It does not edit your existing images. It does not delete anything. You always get a review pass before anything is published. If a generation looks wrong, mark it "Don't use" and it stays in PackScene without ever appearing on the storefront.
Credits and plans, in one line
Each generation costs one credit. Each regeneration or edit uses one regeneration credit. The free plan gives you four credits to try the app; paid plans (Starter, Creator, Pro) come with monthly credit + regeneration allowances. See Plans and credits for the breakdown.

Frequently asked questions
What is PackScene?
PackScene is a Shopify app for fashion and apparel merchants. You upload a flat-lay or ghost-mannequin packshot of a garment, choose a model gender and framing (full body, upper body, lower body), and PackScene generates a high-resolution AI photo of a model wearing it. You review the output and publish straight to the Shopify product, no design tool in the middle.
Who is PackScene for?
Apparel, accessories, and fashion-adjacent Shopify merchants who already have clean packshots but cannot justify a model photoshoot for every product, colorway, or new release. Common users: independent fashion brands, dropshippers with supplier packshots, vintage and resale stores, and small studios that need lifestyle imagery at volume.
How is PackScene different from generic AI image tools?
PackScene is built around the catalog workflow, not the prompt. You pick a Shopify product, pick its packshot, choose framing, and publish. There is no prompt engineering, no Photoshop step, and no manual download/upload cycle. Outputs are upscaled to 2000x2000 pixels and uploaded into the product's media at the position you choose.
Does PackScene replace my packshots?
No. PackScene supplements them. The factory pattern is: keep your original packshot as image one (or last) so customers see the real product, and use PackScene model images as image one or two for the storefront. You stay in control of which images publish and in what order.
