Brand pages: give every brand its own landing page

Turn every brand into a real landing page on your store: an automatic collection with a banner, description, SEO text, and structured data for Google.

Updated July 24, 2026

A brand page is the brand's collection: a real page on your own domain (like /collections/nike) that lists the brand's products automatically and that Google can index and rank. The Brand pages screen builds and manages them at scale.

The first time you open the screen, a short guided tour explains how it all fits together - it shows once, and you can skip it any time.

Step 1 - Create the missing collections

  1. Open Brand pages and click Create missing collections. The picker lists every visible brand that has no collection yet - nothing is preselected.
  2. Choose whether new collections should Only show products that are in stock (on by default): it adds a second collection rule, inventory above 0, so out-of-stock products disappear from the page and return automatically when restocked. You can change any collection's rules later in Shopify admin.
  3. Tick the brands you want (or Select all), click Continue, and confirm the exact count.
  4. The app creates an automated collection per brand (products where the vendor matches, plus the in-stock rule if you kept it on), sorts it by best selling, publishes it to your Online Store, and links the brand to it. Progress shows live, and Finish this batch, skip the rest ends the run early after the current batch - collections that were already created stay either way.

If a collection with the brand's web address already exists, the app links the brand to it - it never creates a duplicate and never deletes or changes what you have.

Step 2 - Create the dedicated template

Your regular collection template usually carries a theme banner that normal collections need - so brand pages get their own template, named brand-page. The setup guide on the Brand pages screen walks you through it and ticks itself off as you go:

  1. Open the theme editor. In the top bar, click the page picker (it usually says "Home page"), choose Collections, then Create template. Name it exactly brand-page, based on your default collection template.
  2. In that template, add the Brand header block above the products and the Brand footer block below them (both under Apps), remove the theme's own banner section if it has one, and save.

Click Check again in the app and both steps turn green automatically. Once both are done, the guide shrinks to a "Template ready" badge with the Customize and Apply buttons. The customization applies to every brand page and leaves regular collections untouched - the app never edits your theme's templates.

Use Apply template to your brand collections (with a confirm step) to switch existing brand collections onto it; new collections you create get it automatically. Each collection's template can be changed back any time in Shopify admin.

Step 3 - Add content per brand

Click Edit page on a brand:

  • Banner - a wide image for the top of the page (PNG, JPG, WEBP, or GIF, up to 8 MB; stored in your own Shopify Files).
  • Brand description (top of the page) - the brand's story, shown under the banner by the Brand header block.
  • Bottom description (below the products) - a second, longer text rendered by the Brand footer block at the bottom of the page. Great for SEO copy.

Both description fields support formatting: use the toolbar above the text to make words Bold or Italic, add a Heading, a Bulleted list, or a Link (select text, click Link, type the address). Clear formatting resets the selection to plain text. Formatting renders on the storefront exactly as you see it, links to other sites open in a new tab, and each description can hold up to 3000 characters of text.

  • Brand website link - the brand's own website (a full https:// address). The Brand header block shows it on the brand's page as a "Visit the official website" link (the link text is editable in the block, and the block adds the address to the page's structured data for Google). A switch appears once you've entered a link: Send shoppers to this website instead - with it on, the brand's cards in the directory, slider, and product pages open the website in a new tab instead of the brand's page on your store.
  • SEO title and SEO description - these fill the collection's own search-engine listing in Shopify, controlling what Google shows. Leave them empty to keep Shopify's defaults - the app never overwrites them with blanks.

Save and publish stores everything on the collection itself as metafields (plus the native SEO fields you filled in), so the content is yours even without the app. It does NOT touch the collection's own description text in Shopify admin - the app never overwrites content you or your theme own. The Brand header and Brand footer blocks are what render your saved content on the page.

Saving also switches the collection onto the brand page template automatically when it's still on your default collection template (and the template from Step 2 exists) - so the content shows without a separate apply step. A collection on a custom template is never switched automatically; use Apply template to your brand collections for those.

Step 4 - Show it with the Brand header and Brand footer blocks

In the theme editor (on the brand page template from Step 2), add the Brand header block above the products and the Brand footer block below them - once each. On brand collections with content they render the banner, logo, and descriptions; on every other collection they render nothing.

Brand header settings: Layout preset (Custom, Classic, Centered, Banner overlay - which places the logo and description on the banner itself - Compact, Hero banner - a taller banner with the logo, name, and description centered on it - or No banner - minimal - skips the banner entirely for a clean, centered logo-and-text look), Logo style (White box, or Just the logo, no box for a logo without the white chip behind it), Show the brand logo, Show the brand description, Show the brand's website link with its editable Website link text (shows the website you set in the editor, in a new tab), Banner height (px), and Layout (side by side or Centered). In banner layouts the logo always renders in a neat square.

Brand footer settings: an optional Heading (write [brand] to insert the brand name, for example "About [brand]"), Layout preset (Simple, Soft box - wraps the text in a subtle rounded box - or Top divider - adds a thin line above it), and Alignment.

The header block also adds schema.org Brand structured data to the page - machine-readable information that helps Google and AI answer engines understand the page is about that brand.

The content badges

The Brand pages table shows what each brand has: Description, Banner, and SEO badges, or "Not started". "No collection" means the brand needs Step 1 first.

Filtering the table

The funnel button next to the search bar filters the table by what still needs doing: No collection yet, Not started, Has content, Missing SEO, or Missing banner. Pick a view and work through the list in passes - for example, create all missing collections first, then write descriptions for everything "Not started", then close the "Missing SEO" gaps.

Frequently asked questions

Can the app delete or change my existing collections?

No. The app never deletes or renames collections - there is no delete anywhere in it. If a collection matching a brand's web address already exists, the app links the brand to it instead of creating a duplicate, and only ever writes its own brand metafields plus the SEO fields you explicitly enter in the editor.

What exactly gets created?

Only the collections you tick and confirm. Each is an automated collection (products where the vendor matches the brand, plus an optional in-stock rule), sorted by best selling, published to your Online Store. Nothing is created in bulk without you selecting the brands and confirming the exact count.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

Everything stays yours: the collections, their descriptions and banners (stored as metafields on the collections), the SEO fields, and the images in your Files. Only the Brand header block stops rendering.

Why does my new brand page show only products, no banner or description?

Two things must exist: content saved in the brand's editor on the Brand pages screen, and the Brand header block added to your collection template in the theme editor. Without the block, the content has nowhere to render.

I saved a description in the app - why didn't the collection's description in Shopify admin change?

That's intentional. Your brand description is stored on the collection as metafields and rendered by the Brand header block - the app never writes into the collection's own description field, because many themes show that text in their own places and the app must never overwrite content you own. If your saved content isn't visible on the page, the collection is usually missing the brand page template or the blocks - saving switches a default-template collection onto the brand page template automatically once the template exists.
