Plans and credits
How PackScene's credit system works, what each plan includes, and how to upgrade or downgrade.
Updated May 20, 2026
PackScene uses a credit-based pricing model billed through Shopify Managed Billing. Each AI image costs one credit. Each regeneration of an already-finished image costs one regeneration credit.
What a credit covers
- One generation credit = one finished AI image at 2000x2000.
- One regeneration credit = one re-roll of an existing image in a finished run.
A product with a front-only generation at full-body framing uses one generation credit. Add a back packshot, and that's two generation credits. Run two framings on the same product (full body and upper body), and that's two credits per side.

How to upgrade or downgrade
- Open the PackScene admin.
- Click Pricing in the side nav.
- Click the plan you want.
- Shopify opens its standard billing confirmation page. Approve.
- The new plan is active immediately.
Downgrading works the same way - pick a lower tier, confirm, the lower allowance applies from the next billing cycle.
What happens on uninstall
When you uninstall PackScene, Shopify cancels the billing automatically (no extra step). PackScene keeps your data through Shopify's 48-hour grace window in case you reinstall. After that, it's deleted.
Published images stay on your Shopify products forever - they belong to your Shopify store, not to PackScene.
Plan recommendation by store size
| Store size | Suggested plan | | --- | --- | | Trying it out | Free (4 credits one-time) | | Under 20 new products / month | Starter | | 20-100 new products / month | Creator | | 100+ new products / month | Pro |
If you're not sure, start one tier below your expected volume and upgrade if you run out mid-month. Upgrades take effect immediately.

Frequently asked questions
Do credits roll over?
Unused generation credits expire at the end of each billing cycle on Starter and Creator. Free tier credits are a one-time allotment. Check the Pricing page inside the app for your tier's exact terms.
What's the difference between a generation credit and a regeneration credit?
A generation credit produces a fresh image from a packshot. A regeneration credit re-runs an existing product in a finished review (so the input is the same but the AI roll is different). Regeneration credits are cheaper but tied to a specific product in an existing run.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. PackScene uses Shopify Managed Billing. Open the Pricing page inside the app, click your current plan, and Shopify handles the cancellation. You keep access until the end of the billing cycle.
What happens if I run out of credits mid-month?
Generation stops until the next cycle starts or you upgrade. The app stays installed and your published images stay on your products. Upgrade in the Pricing page to immediately add more credits.
